Founded in 1854 by the Rev. Dr. William Passavant in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, Glade Run has evolved over the years to meet the changing and increasingly challenging needs of children, adults and families throughout Western Pennsylvania and beyond. With a focus on education, mental health, developmental disabilities, community monitoring and supports, supportive housing, and unique therapeutic offerings, Glade Run has a long tradition of linking faith and service. Last year, Glade Run served over 7,000 individuals with impactful, innovative services in school, home, and community settings.

In 1854, responding to community need, Glade Run opened its doors as the Orphan’s Home and Farm School in rural Zelienople, Pennsylvania. With a tradition of compassion for children and families since that day, thousands of individuals have passed through our doors broken and emerged whole. Glade Run’s mission and spirit have remained constant throughout the years, guiding our program development and the compassionate manner in which they are delivered. Our legacy of caring – on our 331-acre Zelienople campus, in dozens of public, private and charter schools, through eight community offices, and in homes and communities throughout Western PA – continues

Glade Run is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Green, MA. Mr. Green has administered quality programs for children and families for over 20 years in both the private and public sector. Mr. Green started his career at Community Alternatives Inc. where he worked seven years and was the Director of Behavioral Health Services. In this capacity he was responsible for several youth and family programs that included mental health services, juvenile justice services, and education enhancement services. Mr. Green then worked at Butler County Human Services, MHY Family Services, and The Bradley Center. Most recently, Mr. Green was the Chief Executive Officer for Butler County Children’s Center, Inc. In this capacity he was responsible to oversee and enhance early learning and child care subsidy programming that served Butler County’s most vulnerable children and families. Mr. Green earned his Bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University and his Master’s degree in counseling from Waynesburg University. Mr. Green lives in Center Township, Butler County, with his wife and two children.
