Autism Services

Our Autism Services provide an integrated approach that merges highly specialized life-skills instruction with mental health,behavioral health and education. We offer community based and educational Autism services that are highly specialized and tailored to each individual and family’s treatment needs. Glade Run Lutheran Services is committed to the Sanctuary Model of care.

Autistic Support Classrooms

This unique program is designed for children and adolescents with moderate to high functioning Autism, such as Asperger’s Syndrome. The program is geared toward the 13 to 18 year-old student with plans to expand up to age 21. A wide array of supports is enlisted.

  • Small class sizes with no more than eight students, with a staff to student ratio 3:8.
  • Individualized curriculums tailored to each students needs.
  • Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) are utilized to develop a behavior treatment plans.
  • Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) trained staff.
  • Mental health therapy, social skill development, occupational and speech therapy.
  • Vocational training with the older student in mind.
  • Fully equipped sensory room.
  • Life skills apartment to teach daily living.
  • Art, library, computers, physical education and student field trips.
  • Extra curricular clubs such as student council, cooking, basketball, and music.
  • Animal assisted therapy.
  • Therapeutic Horticulture program.
  • Outdoor classroom.
  • Opportunities for community inclusion.
  • Family supportive services and counseling.

Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS)

Wraparound BHRS provides enhanced behavioral health treatment services to children and individuals up to age 21 who have a mental health diagnosis and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Services utilize professional staff and natural supports to literally “wrap” services around an identifi ed child and the child’s family. Our ultimate goal of treatment is to transfer skills from treatment team members to child’s primary support system.

  • Services can be provided in the child’s home, community and school.
  • Family participation in creating an individualized treatment plan based on child centered goals and objectives.
  • The use of community resources to achieve maximum improvement in the child’s function with minimum disruption to the family unit.
  • An interagency team which may include mobile therapy, therapeutic staff supports, behavioral specialist, teachers, vocational training counselor, medical and legal advisors.
  • Family supportive services and counseling.
  • Services are available in Allegheny, Butler and Beaver counties.
