Volunteer Opportunities

The following provides information on some of the ways that you can volunteer at Glade Run:

Animal & Horticulture Program:  Volunteers assist the staff with all areas of the Therapeutic Animal Program; including feeding and grooming the animals, cleaning the stables, and assisting the staff in conducting lessons with the clients.  The Therapeutic Horticulture Program runs year round with an active greenhouse and garden.  Volunteers work in all areas of this program.

Choir Program:  Volunteers assist the Choir Director and Pianist in preparing for performances offered on Sunday during the Chapel service, as well as performances off campus at various churches and for senior citizen groups.

Mentor Program:  This program involves matching a volunteer with a small group of children on the main campus.  The volunteer visits the residential treatment facility on a regular basis to spend time with the children and assist them in learning and reinforcing socially acceptable behaviors.

Tutoring Program:  Volunteers assist clients and students with academic studies. 

Special Hobbies Instructor:  Volunteers share their skills and hobbies with the clients.  Some of these classes may include arts and crafts, scrap booking, journaling, etc.
