Glade Run Labyrinth Completed

After years of planning, the Glade Run Labyrinth was completed and commissioned in early June. Staff, children, friends, family and volunteers collaborated to create a place of peace and reflection not just for the children and families in our care, but for the staff of Glade Run and the community as well.

The Glade Run Labyrinth is unique. The bricks used in its construction were largely donated from a number of interesting sources- in fact, bricks at its center once made up part of Zelienople’s Main Street!

In medieval times, the labyrinth symbolized a path to God with a clearly defined center and one entrance. Labyrinths are used to help achieve a contemplative state- connecting with each person’s unique spirituality and quieting the mind. This makes the labyrinth an especially useful tool for the children, families, and staff of Glade Run Lutheran Services.
